WHAT ARE OUT-OF-NETWORK, SELF-PAY, AND SLIDING SCALE OPTIONS?
The ability/option for Self-Pay allows for individualized session activities, duration (> 60 minutes) and frequency to meet your specific needs, as my services are not dictated by the limitations of insurance. Should you have Out-of-Network insurance benefits, I am happy to offer a superbill/invoice/itemized bill with all necessary information for out-of network reimbursement. Should clients with accepted insurances require/request sessions greater than 60 minutes, a $30 self-pay charge for each additional 15 minutes of treatment time is implemented. My fees and structure are cost-transparent —I believe every body is entitled to high-quality, accessible and cost-effective care. I also strive to offer sliding scale services or discounted session bundles with “Good Faith Estimates” upon request prior to scheduling or during your course of care.

I, PELVIC GUIDE, recommend that you contact your relevant medical provider(s) before participating in any physical therapy, exercise or fitness related programs. If you are presently under the care of a mental health practitioner, consult them regarding the integration of sex counseling and/or trauma-sensitive care (should it be relevant) into your current plan of care. I adhere to a multidisciplinary and bio-psycho-social practice approach, wherein I welcome and encourage dialogue and collaboration with your provider team and support systems to ensure and maximize your outcomes/goals.

Yes! I am able to offer case consultation and/or educational services to other professionals for a fee—whether they be medical, wellness, fitness, mental health, community groups or caregiver-based. HOW DOES PELVIC PHYSICAL THERAPY DIFFER FROM WOMEN’S COACHING?
The scope of practice between a Physical Therapist versus a Coach/Trainer are based upon educational breadth/depth/level, professional licensure, certification type, utilization of health insurance, and resullting scope of practice. A physical therapist (PT) is a licensed healthcare professional focused on diagnosing and treating movement dysfunction, pain, and injuries using medical knowledge, requiring extensive education (Doctorate-levell) + clinical experience hours + passing the national physicall therapy exam (NPTE), in addition to state approval w/ licensure and mandated continuing education requirements. A PT is able to further specialize in an area of expertise + proficency by passing a speciallty examination and satisfying requisite clinical hours with that specialty population to obtain advanced professional board certification. Since PT is considered a medical service, it can be billed to your insurance via specific billing codes, with costs being appllied toward a deductible (IN or OUT OF NETWORK, as per your policy and coverage). Conversely, a coach (fitness or sports) guides healthy individuals toward performance goals, skill development, and broader wellness using exercise programming and motivation, requiring only a certification involving less stringent medical training but valuable performance expertise, often complementing PT work for a seamless transition from rehab to peak fitness. Coaching typically is a private, out-of-pocket expense and is not covered by insurance. The best approach often involves both in sequence or tandem: PT to heal from an injury/issue, and a coach to train, build strength and prevent future issues, ensuring a safe and effective path to full performance.
WHY PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY AND SEX COUNSELING?
Pelvic floor physical therapy (PFPT) and sex counseling are a powerful combination for addressing sexual dysfunction, as they treat the physical and psychological components simultaneously. While PFPT treats the muscles and nerves, sex counseling addresses the emotional, relational, and trauma-based barriers to intimacy. Refer to this video for additional details.
